I’ve Worked With Business Owners for 30 Years. Here’s What Nobody Talks About.

After three decades in design and brand consultancy, I’ve sat across from a lot of business owners who are stuck.

Not stuck because they lack ideas or because they don’t work hard enough. Not stuck because their logo is the wrong shade of blue (although occasionally, yes, that too).

Stuck in a way that’s harder to put your finger on. Stuck in patterns that repeat, regardless of what they try. The same financial ceiling year after year. The knowledge of exactly what they should be doing, and the mysterious inability to do it. The feeling of pushing against a wall that strategy, planning and a new website somehow never quite shifts.

I used to think this was purely a brand and positioning problem. And sometimes it is, but over the years, something kept nagging at me.

Why do some business owners implement advice immediately and fly, while others, equally talented and equally committed, seem to hit the same invisible wall over and over again?

Turns out, it’s not the business at all.

The thing nobody in business coaching tends to talk about

Alongside my brand work, I’ve spent years training in and practicing energy healing – specifically, two methods called the Emotion Code® and the Body Code™. Without getting too ‘woo’ about it (bear with me sceptics), these are precise, evidence-based methods for identifying and releasing trapped emotions and energetic blocks that live in the body and subconscious mind.

I’ve used them to help people recover from chronic discomfort, low mood, worry and trauma. The results have regularly stopped me in my tracks.

But here’s what I’ve come to understand over time – these same blocks show up in businesses.

Fear of visibility that keeps someone from ever quite putting themselves out there. A deep-seated belief that charging what they’re worth is somehow wrong. Inherited patterns around money that have nothing to do with their current circumstances, but run the show anyway. The emotion of ‘indecisiveness’ sitting quietly in the energy field, making every business decision feel like wading through treacle.

These aren’t mindset problems you can think your way out of, they’re not fixed by another planning session or a rebrand. They’re energetic, they’re specific, and (this is the bit that still amazes me) they’re remarkably clearable.

One client came to me unable to make a significant business decision she’d been sitting on for months. We identified and cleared the emotion of indecisiveness in a single session. She made the decision the following week.

Another client described the experience as someone “turning the lights back on” after years of feeling like she was pushing against brick walls.

What happens when you clear the blocks first

The interesting thing about doing energy work before brand and business strategy, is what happens to the strategy conversation afterwards.

When the energetic noise is cleared, people think differently. They can hear feedback they couldn’t hear before and they make bolder decisions. They stop apologising for their prices. The brand clarity that might have taken months of back and forth suddenly becomes obvious.

It’s the difference between trying to read a map in fog and reading it in clear daylight. The map hasn’t changed, you just can finally see it.

Why I’m finally combining both

For years I kept these two sides of my work completely separate. Partly habit, partly not quite knowing how to explain it, partly (if I’m honest) not wanting to confuse people who knew me as ‘the brand consultant and designer.’

But the older I get, the less patience I have for keeping the most useful thing in the room quietly in the corner.

So I’m bringing both together in something I’m calling the ‘Business Energy Intensive’. This is a two-part experience for business owners who are done with going round in circles.

  1. We start with an energy clearing session: identifying and releasing the blocks affecting you and your business.

  2. Then a week or two later, we do a deep-dive brand and business review, followed by a written report with a clear, practical roadmap.

It’s £495 for the full package and I’m starting with a small number of spots so that I can give each person proper attention.

If you’ve read this and thought ‘that’s me, that’s exactly the wall I keep hitting’, I’d love to hear from you.
